New Prospective 6th Form Taster Day: September 2018 Intake

Sixth Form Taster Day Programme: Tuesday 3rd July 2018

Dear

Thank you for accepting your offer of a place at Seven Kings Sixth Form for September 2018 and confirming you will be attending the Taster Day Programme. Following pupil feedback we have decided to change the Taster Day Programme to one full day only which will now be on Tuesday 3rd July. The dress code for the day is school uniform or smart business dress (you can get more information about our dress code policy on our website: /200/dress-code)

The Taster Day Programme enables all those students who will be joining the 6th Form in September 2018 to find out more about 6th Form life. It provides an opportunity to meet and socialise with other new students and meet current year 13 students. Previous students have found it very helpful in preparing for September and the start of their studies. Registration will open at 8.00am and close at 8.45am. In preparing for this day, we hope you also enjoy the newsletter from our newly appointed headship team where they share their experiences of year 12 and their highlights and successes! They have also shared their top tips that helped them in their GCSE’s.

In addition to giving you more information about life in the 6th Form, one of the main aims of the Taster Day Programme is to help you make final, informed decisions about courses and subjects you wish to pursue. To help with this, we run a number of 'subject taster' sessions, which are workshops on the different A-level subjects you have chosen. In these, A-level teachers will explain in detail what their subject entails, how it is assessed and what students will need to do to be successful. In the past, these sessions have helped students to make their final subject choices.

In the interim, if you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us and I look forward to seeing you at the Taster Day Programme. Full details of the taster days will be available on the school website (www.sevenkings.school) in the sixth form section closer to the date.

Yours sincerely

Ms J Waters

Pupils who have not received any information may need to check their email for our GDPR Opt In. Alternatively, if you didn't accept an offer by Thursday 24th May then you should have received the following email confirming our withdrawl of offer:

"SEVEN KINGS SCHOOL - DEADLINE OFFER FOR 6th FORM IS THURSDAY 24th MAY 2018

According to our records we have not had a reply from you to our offer of a place in our Sixth Form for September 2018 which was emailed to you.

As you can imagine with over 1900 applications we need to ensure we offer places to those eager students. If we do not receive your acceptance by Thursday 24th May we will remove your application from our system and your place will be withdrawn as we have to assume you no longer wish to study at Seven Kings.

If you decide to accept our offer of a Sixth Form place in September, may I remind you that attendance of our Sixth Form Induction Programme at Seven Kings School is compulsory. This takes place Tuesday 3rd July inclusive (timings to be confirmed). The Induction gives you the opportunity to meet all other new Sixth Formers and more importantly, to find out in detail about your A-level courses.

IF YOU DO NOT ACHIEVE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS, YOU MUST COME TO SEVEN KINGS SCHOOL ON RESULTS DAY TO DISCUSS YOUR PLACE AT THE SCHOOL. Please visit our website for our 6F entry requirements.

I look forward to hearing from you by Thursday 24th May and I very much hope that you will decide to join us in September. Further information will be sent to you by email regarding enrolment once you have accepted your place with us.

Please disregard the above information if you have already confirmed your place at Seven Kings Sixth Form.

Yours sincerely

Ms J Waters
