A-Level Exams & Appeals Update - 13th August
Today has been a very challenging day for everyone associated with Seven Kings. We are disappointed that the exam boards have reduced a very large number of our Centre Assessed Grades, and that was even after we had rigorously moderated them.
Appeals
We are aware that the media and many universities have been directing many of you towards the appeal process following the publication of your Calculated A-Level Grades. The government has announced that we can appeal grades where they are below mock exam grades. They have released no details yet of what that means in practice or how we can appeal. We are of the opinion that this was a very rushed and last minute decision, and Ofqual are now scrambling around trying to put it into practice; they have said they will provide more details early next week – see here.
October Exam
If you wish to take the exams in October we will share details next week. The exams are full exams with all the papers but no coursework. We would strongly advise that you take your time with Clearing first and see if you can get a place this autumn.
