Welcome from the Headteacher
Seven Kings Primary is a warm and vibrant place where expectations for students are high and all members of the school community are committed to the very best for the students in our care. We have high aspirations for ourselves and for all of our school community and believe that education has the ability to open pathways to enable all of us to seek and build our own destinies.
We are extremely proud to provide the foundations of our young student’s journey through their education and personal growth within this outstanding all-through school.
The school motto, Friendship Excellence Opportunity, underpins everything that we do. Early friendships start here, we seek to ensure our young people feel happy, safe and secure. The excellent relationships built from the very beginning enable all to confidently face new challenges, take risks and solve problems with a growing resilience. We hold their hands while they navigate their pathways through their education and personal growth.
Seven Kings School’s relentless pursuit of excellence is seen in the behaviour for learning of our young people. We are a harmonious inclusive community of learners regardless of starting point; our staff also thrive off our continual professional development offer. We work with our parents in partnership as well as with our wider community, which offers a rich diversity of experience.
The four-form entry primary campus opened in 2015 and is full of happy, confident, well-mannered and well-behaved students who are motivated to learn and to collaborate with others, from their peers to older students and their seniors. We endeavour to nurture our young people into becoming caring, responsible citizens of the future. We are a reflective school and listen carefully to children’s views to ensure their learning is not just relevant and engaging but makes effective links to allow deeper connections and more memorable thinking leading to outstanding outcomes.
Our curriculum is underpinned by our moral compass of giving our students the best for their future by equipping them with the tools both personally and academically; skills, knowledge and conceptual understanding to navigate an ever changing and challenging world. Our intention is to create lifelong learners so that learning continues beyond our gates. Attendance therefore matters in ensuring no child is left behind and that gaps are not needlessly created.
Our enabling, inclusive environment and warm, skilful adult interactions support the students as they begin to link learning to their play and exploration right from the start of their journey with us. We believe that high levels of engagement ensures high levels of attainment. We therefore provide an engaging curriculum that maximises opportunities for meaningful cross-curricular links and learning experiences, as well as promoting the unique child by offering extended periods of play and sustained thinking.
We feel passionately about the importance of reading for pleasure for both children and adults, which becomes clear as you walk around the school. Reading independently, as well as hearing texts read aloud, is the gateway to broadening a child’s imagination, attitudes, behaviours and dreams. The primary children absolutely love the opportunity to share and talk about books with the sixth form Reading Champions , providing excellent role models as well as ambitious caring friends! In mathematics, we have a sharp focus on a deep understanding of number; we want children to share a love of maths and there is a buzz about learning number facts and achieving certificates for their ‘Times Tables Passports’.
We are a school committed to developing children’s oracy from a young age. Oracy not only improves academic outcomes, but is a life skill to ensure success beyond school, in life and future employment. Oracy develops children’s thinking and understanding, which in turn promotes self-confidence, resilience and empathy which support the child’s well-being. To further develop our student’s oracy our specialist teachers from the secondary teach Mandarin in Reception and Key Stage 1. Language acquisition for young children is vital, therefore Mandarin has allowed our students to converse in different languages independently, and we know the study of a foreign tongue improves the knowledge of one’s own language.
The primary and secondary campuses are on separate sites but with close links, enabling a collaborative culture for both staff, students and curriculum development. As an all-through school, our students benefit from specialist subject teaching, for example, in art, design and technology, computing, foreign languages and P.E, equipping them with the skills and confidence for their seamless transition across the road to their secondary education where they can continue through all the way to our ambitious Sixth Form.
As an all through school, we strive to provide an outstanding education for all driven by an engaging, personalised curriculum with exciting opportunities for enrichment, regardless of a child’s physical or learning needs. To bring the curriculum to life memorable moments are created through hands-on experiences. Visitors from the Planetarium visit us and create wonderdomes so our students can learn about Space.
Students are taken into London for various school trips to enrich their learning by visiting museums, places of worship and the Tower of London. Children in Year 6 have the opportunity to go on a week-long residential to explore nature and outdoor exploration. Our Year 1 students take part in Forest School at Valentines Park. Forest school allows children to problem solve and learn to manage risks through a creative and hands-on experience in a natural environment. We build our own swimming pool on the secondary campus so that our Year 4 students learn to swim in an environment where they feel safe, allowing us to personalise the lessons to their needs. Our students use the pond and allotment on the secondary campus for science, thus allowing them to embed learning through practical experiences. Our children also have the unique opportunity to use the science labs and PE facilities at secondary. These experiences allow our students to thrive and flourish beyond the national curriculum.
We are proud of our ambitious team of staff, governors, families and community members who support our school and the children in wearing the crown and in following our school values. Prospective parent open evenings and tour dates are posted on the website so please contact the school office if a future parent or carer would like to visit us.

Children enter Reception with skills and attributes slightly below those expected for their age. By the time they leave the Reception Year, the proportion of children reaching a good level of development is consistently above the national average. Children make outstanding progress in the different areas of learning, including literacy and mathematics.
The recently revised EYFS curriculum is highly responsive to pupil needs and results in a wide variety of activities which stimulate interest and curiosity in all areas of learning. This is supported by a well-resourced and highly stimulating environment.
The genuine all through school model has resulted in an ambitious, broad and sequenced curriculum being established across all age phases.
The headteacher, ably supported by a knowledgeable leadership team continues to inspire the school community to follow the strategic vision in the best interest of all children. As a result, the adults in the school work seamlessly together to ensure the highest possible standards are set and maintained.
