Headteacher's Welcome

Seven Kings School is in all through school which welcomes children aged 4 to 16 from the local community and from across East London and beyond into our vibrant Sixth Form. Seven Kings School has a long and successful history as a high performing, outstanding school with world-class status. We are a Learning Partnership with a thriving alliance of 24 schools providing exciting opportunities for staff and students alike, this relentless pursuit of excellence for all is at the heart of our continuing success.

Seven Kings provides a broad, rich and balanced curriculum that offers 2all students the opportunities to succeed and to find their element. We focus on teaching students the skills to be effective learners, to encourage in them a love of learning that they will keep throughout their life and to be a good citizen. We are proud that we offer music, languages, design and technology, drama, art alongside humanities and science in our Sixth Form. We are also excited to offer specialist teaching and facilities to our very youngest learners and await to see where this will take the school in the future! We offer many enrichment opportunities which add to the student’s experience and development as an individual.

The learning that takes place in the classroom is the cornerstone of the3 school’s success and what has gained us a local and national reputation. The school is always oversubscribed and enjoys strong support from parents and governors. We provide a high-quality education to local children regardless of their ability.  We are, as Ofsted stated, a ‘harmonious school with an excellent learning environment….an exceptional environment in which all pupils thrive’. 1Our motto of Friendship Excellence Opportunity is the golden thread that weaves itself through all we do. To learn well you have to feel safe and secure with your peers and with all staff. We work hard to ensure through our recruitment that we employ dedicated teachers who are well qualified and passionate about teaching young people, providing outstanding, lifelong learning. Our students are enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious to succeed and maintain very high standards of behaviour and engagement in their studies. We encourage them to be reflective and creative in their thinking and to become increasingly independent learners as they progress through the school.

Every student needs guidance and encouragement and at Seven Kings we aim to meet individual needs by providing the right level of challenge and support to ensure students reach their full potential. We also have learning mentors to support students when they need that extra support and mentoring schemes with both staff and student mentors. We are very proud of the inclusive nature of our school and aim to personalise learning and teaching so that every student is able to succeed.

Beyond the Classroom

There are many opportunities for students to take part in extracurricular activities at Seven Kings. A large number of clubs and activities take place outside lesson time. Staff are committed to providing different opportunities to enrich the lives of our students. From subject-based clubs such as art, drama, music, science, sport and technology to trips and visits beyond the classroom nationally and internationally. We offer a number of residential trips to places like Paris, Spain, China and outdoor pursuits and skiing trips to Austria. This is where memories are formed and lifelong friendships made. Students are encouraged to enter competitions and to contribute to the community in different ways. Our peer committees and student leadership programs help develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for students to be heard. One wonderful aspect of being an all through school is our youngest students being taught by our oldest whether in Maths or reading or PE. Joining together in music concerts, sports days and drama productions. Having positive role models in their everyday lives. We are a proud and ambitious school and we consistently challenge each other to be better versions of ourselves. The Good School Guide describes us as “..a place which, once visited, will resonate with you for a long time afterwards - not least because it is a school with a massive heart and social conscience. As a result, there is a lot of love and respect and it has often been used as a benchmark to demonstrate what a state school in a deprived area is capable of achieving”.

We invite students and staff alike to wear the crown, to live and breathe our Seven Kings’ values. I hope this website will give you some insight into our school.
